Infrastructure Consultant
Reporting directly to the Head of Consultancy this position encompasses responsibility for consulting on technology solutions and services to both prospects and contracted clients. The role will establish itself as a trusted technology consultant and “expert in their field” and help roadmap client’s technology investment in line with their business goals.
Utilize is passionate about technology and has a clear and concise vision – to become the largest and most influential technology partner for small to medium sized businesses in the South East. We are on key vendor Partner Advisory Councils and have a direct influence over key technology trends, regularly attending councils and conferences across the globe (Microsoft, HPE, VMWare, Sophos, Sage, SonicWALL and Gamma to name a few). The role:
- Work with Account Directors and contracted clients consulting on and scoping complex technical solutions and services to clients
- Work with Account Directors to roadmap a client’s technology investment using a varying range of tools and reporting formats (EG Technical Maturity Level)
- Facilitate and / or contribute to 2nd stage new business meetings and presentations acting as the technical expertise focus as and when deemed necessary (to be qualified in)
- Facilitate and / or contribute to meetings and presentations in assistance to the various existing business teams acting as the technical expertise focus as and when deemed necessary (to be qualified in)
- Provide chargeable consultancy in relation to multiple areas including but not limited to Teams/SharePoint training and Business Process Analysis
- Achieve individual monthly, quarterly and annual targets by supplying consultancy and / or project management days surrounding the delivery of technology solutions and services to both new and existing clients
- Run customer demonstrations and proof of concepts in line with the above and relevant teams
- Actively engage in training and development opportunities provided by the company and its vendors or suppliers
- Maintain internal CRM and / or project management tools to the requested standards and relevance
- Provide holiday, sickness and load cover for the Infrastructure Analyst team as and when required
To be successful you will:
- The ideal candidate would possess the following skills, experience and/or qualifications:
- Technology related certificates: Microsoft: AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals, SC-900: Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals MS-900 Microsoft 365 Fundamentals
- Consultancy related certificates (TOGAF)
- Degree in computer science or similar qualifications and/or industry experience
- Internal and External Stakeholder management
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise own time and work to tight deadlines
- Work as part of multi-disciplined teams and collaborate effectively
- Excellent understanding of current and future technology including cloud, AI and Digital Workplace
- Sound knowledge of industry on premise infrastructure, datacentre, compute, storage, networking, virtualisation, and security solutions
- A clear understanding of industry, i.e. managed service, managed hosting, outsourcing and service provider models
- Confidence answering business and technical queries from customers comprehensively
- Ability to engage with engineers, other consultants and customers convincingly
- Able to discuss business and technical drivers with CxO level stakeholders
- Define and deliver a customer’s technology strategy mapping it back to core business and strategic requirements
- Running small customer-based workshops, training, demonstrations, and proof of concepts where necessary
- Ability to comprehend customer requirements and articulate value proposition
- Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
- Presentation skills with natural flair and attention to detail
