Telecoms Support Engineer

Reporting directly to the Head of Managed Services this position encompasses responsibility for the delivery of remote support services to all contracted and non-contracted clients across all regional offices. This position requires clear communication, co-ordination and management to ensure clients expectations and contractual obligations are maintained.

We are on key vendor Partner Advisory Council’ and have a direct influence over key technology trends, regularly attending councils and conferences across the globe (Microsoft, HP, VMware, Sophos, Dell / Dell SonicWALL, Avaya to name a few).

The role:

  • Delivery of pro-active telephony, connectivity and manage services support to contract and non-contracted clients
  • Ensuring all SLA obligations are met in line with departmental KPI’s
  • Recommendations of relevant new technical procedures to ensure the company continue to provide world class support and customer service
  • Configuration and support of client’s telephony platform (on premise and hosted) including industry certifications as defined by current vendor within product portfolio and detailed within your personal training plan (i.e., Avaya / Gamma)
  • Support of client’s email filtering solution (Managed Service EFS) including industry certifications as defined by current vendor within product portfolio and detailed within your personal training plan
  • Support of clients managed firewall (Managed Service MFS) including industry certifications as defined by current vendor within product portfolio and detailed within your personal training plan (i.e SonicWall)
  • Remote configuration and support of DNS
  • Remote configuration and support of client’s connectivity (DSL, FTTC, EoFTTC, EFM, Ethernet, DIA & MPLS)
  • Configuration and support of client’s connectivity hardware (Routers)
  • Support of clients WLR, SIP & CPS (PSTN, Multi-line, ISDN2, ISDN30 and SIP Channel) including industry certifications as defined by current vendor within product portfolio and detailed within your personal training plan (i.e Gamma & Vodafone)
  • Maintain a satisfactory level of Technical certifications to deliver the above responsibilities

To be successful you will:

  • Have at least 3 years Telecoms Experience / Support and any Networking experience
  • Posses a keen understanding of the industry
  • Hold essential technical or industry related certificates in Telecoms (Preference: Avaya) and Hosted Systems (Preference: Horizon)
  • Have other beneficial qualifications/certificates like ITIL and CCNA
  • Be Analytical, Cooperative, Diligent and Detail orientated
  • Need to be a UK resident
