What does a typical day in the life of an Account Director involve?
One of the great things about the Account Director role is that no two days are ever quite the same.
I’m lucky enough to work with some fabulous clients across a wide range of industries so most of my time is spent meeting clients, discussing their business objectives and challenges and looking at how technology might help them achieve these goals and address any challenges.
What’s the best thing about working in the IT industry?
IT is such a fast-moving, and ever-evolving industry so there is always something new and exciting on the horizon. We are also fortunate that the effective deployment of technology into a business can have such a dramatic effect on productivity, collaboration, efficiency and ultimately profitability.
Seeing these modernisation projects come to fruition is incredibly satisfying and is a big part of what I love about the industry and my job at Utilize.
What skills/attributes do you feel are essential for someone interested in your role?
A passion for technology and a desire to continuously learn about new industries is an absolute given.
A degree of business acumen and commercial awareness coupled with great communication skills and the ability to listen are also very important in understanding the business challenges and goals of our clients.
