Imagine inviting your whole team to a slide presentation and showing them a blank slide. The speaker introduces it as “a visualisation of our business strategy 2019-2021”, what would the team think was going on? In fact, this is a great way to demonstrate how people who are blind or have low vision may be unconsciously excluded from the team; missing out on this key piece of information, simply because they cannot see a slide.

We’re not trying to build empathy with this example, although we are not denying the importance of this, rather we want to demonstrate how using simple accessibility tools that are already built into Windows 10 and Office 365, we can all create an inclusive experience for every single team member.

We’ve written a short guide to a handful of tools that can help. By providing this technology, over time we can all transition to creating a culture that celebrates diversity. And that’s got to be a good thing for everyone.
