In line with the company’s software lifecycle
policy, Sage will be withdrawing support for Sage 50 Accounts and
Instant Accounts v12 and Sage 50 Accounts v2007 with effect from
30th April 2012. To help companies wishing to upgrade their accounts
packages, Utilize is offering 20% discount on product upgrades until
31st July 2010*. |

Why is Sage doing this?
Sage is always looking for ways to improve its
software based on customer feedback, or advances in technology.
Sometimes they have to make changes to ensure their software keeps
pace with new legislation too. But to continue investing in future
products they cannot continue to support older versions
indefinitely. Sage also wants to ensure it can continue to offer the
best level of support possible, so it wants customers to have
recourse to technical experts with the right level of knowledge.
These cut-off points for support on older Sage products allow the
company to concentrate resources on the development and training of
current versions.
It doesn’t mean your software will stop working
after the 30th April 2012 and you can continue to use it. But Sage
will be withdrawing support in a phased approach. Once support has
been withdrawn altogether, it may be impossible to upgrade your
version to the latest release. This means that in the future if you
choose to buy a newer version, data may need to be transferred
manually. Utilize would need to charge you to perform this work. |
